We are created for one thing – to bring glory to God! And one of the greatest ways to bring him glory is by leading others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We can extend His glory to the ends of the earth by obeying the command and commission found in Matthew 28:19-20:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things
that I have commanded you…”
We at Oakland believe that our purpose as a church family is to use the missions “blueprint” found in Acts 1:8…
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you
shall be my witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and to the
ends of the earth.”
…and take the gospel to our community, our state, our nation and all around the world. We do this by offering opportunities for members to help make followers of Christ through regular training and mission endeavors.
