It was Palm Sunday, but because of a sore throat,
5-year-old Johnny stayed home from church with a sitter. When the family returned home, they were carrying several palm branches. Johnny asked them what they were for. “People held them over Jesus’ head as He walked by,” his father told him. “Wouldn’t you know it,” Johnny fumed, “the one Sunday I don’t go and He shows up!”
I sure pray the Lord shows up today!

MISSION TRIP DEADLINE
All Mission Trip applications and $200 deposit checks need to be turned in by Monday, April 13.
SPRING BANQUET
Sunday, April 19 • 6:00-8:00 PM • OBC Gym
Registration is now open! You may register on our church website (oaklandbaptist.org), the OBC app, QR Code, or pick up a Banquet Envelope at the Women’s Ministry tables. The meal consists of chicken & fish with all the trimmings & dessert. Cost is $10 per person. Childcare is provided for 6th grade & under. Chicken nuggets or pizza will be provided for them. Deadline to register is Sunday April 12.

The annual giving statements are now being distributed. To request your statement, please complete the form located at the Front Welcome Center and drop it in one of the offering boxes or call the Church Office (662.287.3118).
