Three senior adults were talking one day when one said to the other, “You know when I stand in front of a mirror, I can’t remember if I am getting dressed or undressed.”  The other one said, “Well when I get in my car, I can’t remember if I am going somewhere or coming back from somewhere.  “The other one said, “Well nothing like that has ever happened to me, knock on wood. Excuse me while I go answer the door!”

SPECIAL STUDENT D-GROUP

Students going into 7th-12th grade are invited to join us for a Special D-group.  We will take a bus immediately after Student Choir Practice to the Lodge at Pickwick.  Lunch will be provided.

DEACON NOMINATIONS
During the month of July we are accepting nominations for deacons to serve for the next three years.  In order to be eligible, men must be at least 21 years of age and must have been a member of Oakland at least one year as of September 1, 2024.  The ballot box and ballots are located at the Front Welcome
Center.

BISCUITS & BIBLE
Our men’s weekly Bible Study will resume on Thursday, August 1, at 7:45 am.  Bring your Bible and a friend for our new study, on Nehemiah.  Sign up at the Front Welcome Center if you plan to attend.

ABOUND- WOMEN’S CONFERENCE with Leadership Workshop

PHOENIX MISSION TRIP
November 8-12
Pray about being part of our team heading to Phoenix, Arizona.  We will work alongside NAMB church planters preparing to launch a new church.  The team will help with passing out door hangers in neighborhoods, surveys and serving at Veterans Day events.  Cost is $450.  Applications are at the Front Welcome Center.
