The jewelry store had two stones on a velvet display mat.  The first was a massive, glittering rhinestone that caught the showroom light beautifully.  The second stone was a small, uncut diamond covered in rough, gray crust.
 
One untrained customer immediately reached for the sparkling rhinestone, dismissing the dusty diamond as trash.
 
The jeweler gently stopped the customer’s hand.  He said, “The world judges value by the outward shine, but the true treasure is hidden inside.  When we favor the wealthy over the poor, we are making the same mistake.

FALL FESTIVAL – TRUNK OR TREAT
Wednesday, October 28
Volunteers are needed for multiple stations and to decorate your car trunk.  Sign up at the Front Welcome Center.

OAKLAND FOOD PANTRY
Non-perishable foods are needed such as: canned meat, peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal, soups, crackers, mac & cheese, instant potatoes, canned fruit, applesauce, spaghetti sauce, etc.  Please bring the items to the Church Office or place them in the cart in the Back Lobby.
 
EMBRACE GRACE CLOTHES CLOSET
Clothing for infant girls in sizes newborn to 5T is needed for the Embrace Grace Clothes Closet.  Please leave your donations at the Back Welcome Center or the Church Office.
