We are living in a culture that has become addicted to
condemnation. People’s mistakes get magnified like they are under a microscope, while compassion gets minimized like it has been misplaced in a drawer. Instead of open arms, people often are met by folded arms. Instead of grace, they meet gossip. Instead of restoration, they meet rejection.
What grieves me the most is when this spirit sometimes slips into the church. The very place that ought to be a hospital for the hurting becomes a hallway of whispers. Shame is heavy, but grace is heavier!

Our Worthy Wednesdays for children will begin September 2 with a meal at 5:30 pm. Ages 3, 4, & 5 will meet downstairs in C-Wing and grades 1-6 will meet upstairs in Oakville.

All adults, ages 55 & better, are invited to travel to Tupelo and enjoy food & fellowship together at the Olive Garden. Cost is $15 each. The bus will leave OBC at 10:30 am. Sign up at the Front Welcome Center.

This 30-minute Men’s Bible Study on Thursday mornings, 6:30-7:00, will begin September 10. There is no workbook, memorization or wasted time…just learning to be a “Betterman” in Jesus. Sign up at the Front Welcome Center.
