Luke’s Gospel tells us that Mary gave birth to Jesus and placed Him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.  We give the innkeeper a hard time because he missed out on having the God of the universe born in his hotel.  But he did make some room for Christ – he put Him out back in a stable.
 
That’s exactly what we do with Christ at Christmas.  I’m always frustrated when I see news reports of another community taking the nativity scene out of their town square.  Our culture tries to take all references to Christ out of Christmas.
 
Lord, I pray that we would make room for You this Christmas.
