A man working in the produce department was asked by a lady if she could buy half a head of lettuce.  He replied, “Half a head?  Are you serious?  God grows these in whole heads and that’s how we sell them!”  She persisted, “You mean that after all these years I’ve shopped here, you won’t sell me half a head of lettuce?”
 
He said “I’ll ask the manager.”  He marched to the front of the store.  He said to the manager, “There’s a lame-brained lady back there who wants to buy half a head of lettuce.”
 
He turned around to see the lady standing behind him.  “And this nice lady was wondering if she could buy the other half!”

HOME OF EL ROI 5K RACE
Saturday, November 7
Chick Fil-A is sponsoring a half-marathon & a 5K Race and all the proceeds will go to the Home Of El Roi Ministry.  Additional volunteers are still needed in several areas that morning.  More information and sign-up sheets are at the Front Welcome Center.

2026 OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD DRIVE
Sunday, November 15
The Christmas Shoebox goal for 2026 is 1,000 boxes.  To help us reach our goal, please consider packing one box for each person in your household.  Other ways to help include giving $30 to fill a box, giving $10 to cover shipping for one box, or helping to load and deliver shoeboxes to Farmington Baptist Church on November 19.

OAKLAND FOOD PANTRY
Non-perishable foods are needed such as: canned meat, peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal, soups, crackers, mac & cheese, instant potatoes, canned fruit, applesauce, spaghetti sauce, etc.  Please bring the items to the Church Office or place them in the cart in the Back Lobby.

EMBRACE GRACE CLOTHES CLOSET
Clothing for infant girls in sizes newborn to 5T is needed for the Embrace Grace Clothes Closet.  Please leave your donations at the Back Welcome Center or the Church Office.

COMMUNITY MEDICAL OUTREACH
