WE KNOW THAT VISITING A NEW CHURCH CAN BE INTIMIDATING
What should I wear? Where do my kids go? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel right at home when you visit.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
There is no dress code for attending services at Oakland Baptist Church. Some attenders dress casually and some dress up—it’s all good! You are free to come exactly as you are, so wear whatever you are most comfortable in.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE?
When you arrive on campus at Oakland, look for the sign pointing to the Welcome Center. You’ll be greeted there by a friendly smile from one of our greeters. They can answer your questions and direct you to where the worship service will be.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
Our Children’s Ministry provides a special worship experience for kids 4 years old through the 6th grade. These worship times are age appropriate, lively and fun! Just ask at the Welcome Center and someone will show you where they meet.
We also provide child care for children birth through 3 years old in our nursery area.
WHAT IS THE WORSHIP SERVICE LIKE?
Our services are a blend of different styles. There is always a choir, but at various times, ensembles, quartets or a soloist will also sing. We sing everything from traditional hymns to the contemporary songs you can hear on the radio. Our pastor will always preach a message that will be both an encouragement and a challenge. Our services close with a brief time to respond to God in both worship and prayer.
