COVID-19 update

Update from Bro. Randy:

August 3, 2020

Dear Oakland Family,

Throughout history, the Church has always found ways to share the love of God. When driven underground by persecution, the early church worshipped in secret in the catacombs under the streets of Rome. In that same spirit, we have been able to continue to share the love of God and the hope of the Gospel through our online worship services. I deeply appreciate the effort of so many that have helped make this happen.

But the time has come for us to re-open our in-person worship services - and make every effort to stay open safely.

This reopening process will begin with Sunday morning worship services on September 6th. Soon afterwards, we'll begin to gather on Wednesday nights for a time of Bible study. Our adults will meet in the sanctuary and our students will meet in our new Student Building for praise and worship. The first Sunday in October, our goal is to begin to gather at 9:00 am for some form of Bible study classes. Our other meeting times will be added when we feel like we can do it safely.

One of the main responsibilities of a shepherd is the safety of the sheep. Please pray that God would grant me His wisdom as we continue our journey through these uncharted waters.

Bro. Randy
